Life Stack Personal Privacy Policy

Life Stack Personal 1.0 is a local, single-person Windows application. It does not require a Life Stack account, and its core features work offline.

Data handled by the app

Items, light notes, attention levels, lifecycle state, relationships, history, provenance, working-location references, settings, and derived lexical-search data are stored in the current Windows user’s local application-data folder.

ACB Software does not receive this data through Life Stack. The app includes no telemetry, advertising SDK, analytics client, cloud model, or network client.

Working-location references

Working-location URIs are stored and displayed as references. Version 1.0 does not automatically open, crawl, mirror, or transmit them. Semantic retrieval is not included in version 1.0.

Diagnostic logs

Content-free diagnostic logs contain only a timestamp, event code, app version, and optional authority state version. They contain no Item text, notes, queries, paths, URIs, identifiers, or error-message text. Logs are retained for at most seven days and 20 MiB.

Owner-controlled copies

Canonical exports and .lifestack-backup bundles are complete readable copies. A backup includes operational recovery state, including idempotency records, plus a canonical export and checksums.

Life Stack does not encrypt these files or manage encryption keys. You choose their destination, access controls, encryption, retention, and deletion.

Retention and deletion

Updates preserve local data. Uninstall is intended to retain %LOCALAPPDATA%\LifeStack\Personal; that behavior is verified against supported signed packages before release.

Complete history and operational idempotency records are retained for the life of the local authority. Automatic backups retain up to seven copies in an owner-chosen destination. Pre-restore recovery artifacts are retained for at least seven days and until a newer verified backup exists; version 1.0 does not automatically delete them.

In the app, typing DELETE and choosing Delete local data removes the local authority, settings, logs, recovery artifacts, and derived indexes after a path-safety check. It does not remove backups or exports stored elsewhere. Relaunching afterward creates a fresh empty authority.

Microsoft Store

Microsoft may process account, acquisition, installation, update, and ownership information when you use the Microsoft Store. That processing is governed by Microsoft’s applicable terms and privacy statements; Life Stack does not receive your Microsoft account credentials.

Changes and questions

This policy will be updated before app behavior changes in a way that materially affects personal data handling. The effective date above identifies the current version.
